Keychron K2 Version 2:
features & buying considerations
A 75% mechanical layout with Bluetooth and a USB-C wired connection.
Model covered: Keychron K2 Version 2. Different generations and configurations may have different specifications.
What the specifications tell you
The K2 Version 2 places a function row and navigation keys in a compact 75% layout. Keychron lists both Bluetooth and USB-C wired connectivity. The practical question is whether you want a smaller desk footprint without moving everyday function shortcuts to a secondary layer.

Practical benefits and trade-offs
These are buying considerations inferred from the layout and stated features, not conclusions from testing.
Reasons to consider it
- A dedicated function row can make shortcuts easier to find than on a 60% board.
- Two connection methods give you a choice between wireless desk use and a cable.
Reasons to look closer
- There is no dedicated number pad; frequent spreadsheet users should account for that.
- K2 versions and switch options differ. A listing that simply says “K2” is not enough to identify its features.
Is this the right type of keyboard for you?
Write down the keys you use every day before choosing this layout. If you rely on a numpad, compare the MX Keys S instead. If the compact mechanical layout appeals but you want a wired customization project, compare the Q1 Version 2. These are layout-based considerations, not measured typing or performance judgments.
For a different option, read the Keychron Q1 Version 2 overview, or use our keyboard buying guide to choose a layout and connection.
Check the exact listing before buying
Confirm Version 2, the regional key layout, switch option, backlight option, and whether the particular unit supports switch replacement. Do not assume features from the K2 Pro, K2 HE, or K2 Version 3 apply to this model.
